Does your desktop look like you’re playing Space Invaders on level 19? Do you have so many icons that you haven’t seen your wallpaper for weeks? It’s like my roommate in college whose room you had to wade through a foot of clothing and Taco Bell wrappers and only God knows what.
Having 100 icons on your desktop is kind of like that.
For all of the wallpapers on this site, I recommend you consolidate to 12 icons or less. Create folders and organize all your stuff. Then organize your icons in the bottom left-hand corner of your desktop, like this:
I consider desktop wallpaper art. Don’t clutter your desktop with dozens of unneccessary icons.

Never thought of being an iconoclast in that way, but I guess it’s more iconomanipulism. My icons are moving.
I have mine cut down to four now. Also, a nice wallpaper from this site!
oOoOoOoO exactly my thoughts. Wallpaper on a computer should be like wallpaper in a room — ART. I should send a snapshot of my desktop! My icons, dock and wallpaper were all customized and coordinated. But my non-virtual desktop surrounding my Mac? I think I forgot what color my desk is. P.S. I LOVE your stuff! Before I found your WordPress, I had wanted to do the exact same thing, had I more time and knowledge. Needless to say, however, your designs inspire me a lot!! And yeah, icons deserve a spot, too. NOT running free all over the desktop.
