What are your goals?
I’m not talking about a to-do list for today, but some things you’d like to get accomplished in your life…things like “go skydiving” or “birth enough children to start a small country” or even “write the great American novel”…that last one’s not that bad, actually.
Here are two of my life goals that I’ve been thinking about lately:
1) Whistle with my fingers in my mouth.
As it turns out, there are 17,000 YouTube videos devoted to this topic, so I might get a head start on this one.
I love the description of this video:
This tutorial will help you to do that classic cool-cat move, hailing the cab by whistling through your fingers. Nothing this cheap is nearly this awesome.
Well said.
2.) Slam Dunk a Basketball On a 10′ Goal
5′7″ Spud Webb paved the way for 5′9″ Nate Robinson who paved the way for 5′8″ me. Spud Webb dunked over 7′6″ Manute Bol. Nate Robinson blocked 7′6″ Yao. He jumped over 6′11″ Dwight Howard to get his dunk on. These guys are my heroes. They both won Slam Dunk Competitions. I’m going to dunk (and I’m not just talking about Oreos in my milk).
So, enough about my goals…What are some of your goals?

Those are some pretty ambitious goals. I still can’t whistle with my two fingers in my mouth. It’s such a pain when I try to hail a cab. All the other people here in Westfield always get the cabs before I do because they know how to whistle.
I have a goal to become fluent in Narau, the language spoken by maybe a 100 or so individuals in Irian Jaya. It is supposedly an endangered language so I figure if I can learn it and speak it then it has got at least a 1% better chance of sticking around.
I’ve always wanted to swallow spaghetti and shoot it out my nose
Take music lessons of some sort. Write, if not the great american novel, a novel. Learn how to repair my bike. Go skydiving. (I’ve given up on learning how to whistle, by the way.) Read the Bible from cover to cover. Run a 10K. Be happy.
I can do both of those… not to brag or anything
