Green -or- Barry is better at Photoshop than me

Is “going green” something Christians should do, or is just a fashionable fad, a way for churches to appeal to people who are outsiders to the church?

It is my opinion, based on my interpretation of the Bible, that Christians are compelled to do their part to care for creation, or, if you prefer, challenged to be good stewards of God’s creation. Psalm 24 begins with “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” God has given us responsibility over the earth and it is our job to be diligent caretakers of His good creation.

Not sure how to go green…check out this article on 10 Easy Ways to Go Green. You’ll save money on energy bills and do your part to help care for the Earth.

One very cool item I found online recently is The Green Bible. This is a Bible that has passages related to caring for creation written in green letters. It also contains inspirational writings from many of today’s leaders in the green movement in Christianity.

Is God green? I don’t know what color God is…maybe purple. Does He want us to take care of His creation? Yes. Thanks to Barry Rod for making this stunning wallpaper.
